Akaroa is approximately 80-90 minutes drive by car from Christchurch City and Christchurch International Airport. It is an easy drive through Canterbury farmland and then over the stunning Banks Peninsula hills to Akaroa

 

Christchurch to Akaroa by the French Connection bus

The Akaroa French Connection provides daily return coach services from several locations in Christchurch city centre to Akaroa. The trip stops at scenic locations along the way with commentary by the driver and drops passengers off directly outside our reception and gift shop on the Main Wharf, making this a convenient way to come for the nature cruise. One-way journey takes approximately two hours, we recommend booking our 1:30pm cruise to ensure you have plenty of time for check-in.
